Jan Erik Noske

Jan Erik studied flute and piano at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. As a flutist he dedicated himself to folk music, and performed and toured internationally with founded folk group King’s Galliard, minimal music group Hoketus, the Appel Theatre Company and Het Werktheater. In 1981 he co-founded dance group Yuca of which he is artistic director. Together with Yvette Olof he founded Pandora in 1985 and Briza in 1995. With 15 years of experience, Briza annually performs around 200 shows for children.

In Xpectacolo Jan Erik plays the flute and keyboard.

 

Rinus Sprong

After studying at the Academy of Arts and the Rotterdam School of Dance, Rinus Sprong joined the Nederlands Danstheater II. He also danced internationally with, among others, Theatre Choreographique de Rennes (France), The New Boys (NYC), Bat Dor Dance Company (Israel), Intro Dans, The Scapino Ballet, as well as performing in independent productions.

His extraordinary career encompasses modern dance, classical ballet and musical and theatre productions. He danced works by Hans van Manen, Nils Christe, Jiri Kylian and Thom Stuart.

With Musical Theatre Company Briza he performed in ‘WAM!’ and directed ‘Azirba’ . In 'Grace, The Musical' he worked with composer Cy Coleman and director Frans Weisz.

For ten years he took part in Festival De Parade with his company De Dutch Don’t Dance Division. In 2001 'Fortuna's Follies' was voted best festival production.
He worked as a choreographer with Loes Luca, Arjan Ederveen and Cabaret Lulu Entertainment New York.

In 2008 Rinus Sprong and Thom Stuart received the Culturalis Award in recognition of their work for the City of The Hague, including their productions The Nutcracker in De Grote Kerk and the Maximum Dance Course.

Yvette Olof

In 1979, Yvette graduated as a dancer from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. She danced for two years with the Nederlands Dans Theater. She also studied dance in South-America and Canada. In 1981 she co-founded dance group Yuca of which she is artistic director. Together with Jan Erik Noske she founded Pandora in 1985 and Briza in 1995. With 15 years of experience, Briza annually performs around 200 shows for children.

Yvette is a singer and dancer in Xpectacolo.

 

Marieke Esser

In 1993, Marieke graduated in Theatre Dance at the Dansacademie Brabant. She performed as a singer and dances with Musical Theatre Group Zenga and she took part in Margriet Eshuijs’ theatre productions. She also creates choreographies and designs costumes. Since 2002 she is a singer and dancer with Musical Theatre Company Briza. For Briza, she also creates choreographies, designs costumes and is involved in creating new productions.

Marieke is a singer and dancer in Xpectacolo.

 

Shakira Wardenaar

In 2007 Shakira graduated in Musical Theatre at the Fonty’s Dance Academy in Tilburg. At a very young age, Shakira took part in Annie de Musical by Stardust Productions. As a student, she performed in History of the Musical en De Dutch Don’t Dance Division. As a fourth-year student she was a trainee at Musical Theatre Company Briza and she performed in Verveling in de Favela. After graduating, she worked for a year with Cruise Ship Evening Show. Late 2009 she returned to Briza.

Shakira is a singer and dancer in Xpectacolo.

 

Frank de Vries

As a youngster Frank started a technical training course, but he lost his heart to Rock ‘n’ roll. He played in a variety of bands in The Hague. In 1995, Frank is co-founder of Musical Theatre Company Briza. Frank is a guitarist and composer. He also designs sets for Briza productions.

In Xpectacolo Frank is a singer and guitarist.

 

Jaro Stulrajter

Jaro studied violin with the Slovakian Conservatory, where he graduated in 1986. He then studied viola and graduated in 1989. After working in Germany as a viola player, he joined Musical Theatre Company Briza in 1996. With Briza he plays the violin and bass guitar. He also performs with Flamenco Group LabryƩnco.

In Xpectacolo Jaro plays the violin and bass guitar.

 

Bert Fonderie

From an early age, Bert has been playing in all sorts of bands. He toured around Europe and played with The Livin’ Blues, Jan Rot, The Motown Revue and The Summer of Love.

Together with Tuesday Child Bert performed on television in tv-show 2 Meter Sessies, and on the Amercian South by Southwest Festival. Since 1999 he toured with blues singer Boyd Small in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy and the UK. They also performed together at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2000 Bert joined Musical Theatre Company Briza. He also performs regularly at nightclubs.

In Xpectacolo, Bert is singer, drummer and percussionist.

 

Chantal de Vries

 

In 1994 Chantal finished her studies at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Arnhem. From 1995 she has been working with Music Theatre Group Zenga as a dancer, coach and singer. She also danced in various productions of Expressive Dance Theatre Telder and for a major part of her career she was employed as a dance teacher at Introdans Educatief. Besides dancing and teaching Chantal was trained as an actress. As Miss Monica she acted in “The Groovy Bears”.

In Xpectacolo Chantal performs as dancer and singer.
